Well, my recommendation is to focus initially on the Earnings upgrade: you need more money generated ASAP in order to be able to afford even more upgrades. So invest in this one before others. Also, when you first start playing the game, you should completely ignore spending even a dollar on the Offline Bonus upgrade: you only need to invest money in this before you stop playing, so ignore it until then.
After the earnings upgrade, it's difficult to say which one is more important. But also you should keep an eye on prices. If one of the upgrades starts costing double (or more than double) than any other available, you should invest in the lower cost ones first.
